MSN Video launches beta version of “Soapbox”, competition for YouTube. As my friend Vincent told me, MSN’s belief is that there will only be [these] two long-term players. Chances are, with MSN’s weight, they will of course be a serious competitor. Let’s see how long they manage to keep it “free and fun” and for the right crowd. I assume, with their existing client base, that will make it attractive enough for people to contemplate posting on Soapbox over YouTube. Let’s see if it becomes another Apple vs PC matchup. Must say I like the fact that they have started with a Rugby World Cup segment (in the labels on top bar).
