Minter Dialogue with Alex Pattakos
Alex Pattakos is the founder of the Global Meaning Institute, a political scientist, philosopher and bestselling author. He has written (with Elaine Dundon) “The OPA! Way”, “Discovering Meaning through the Lens of Work,” (for the Journal of Constructive Psychology) and most recently, “Prisoners of our Thoughts, Viktor Frankl’s Principles for Discovering Meaning in Life and Work.” In this conversation, we discuss his background, including as a US Army Veteran, his encounter with and importance of Viktor Frankl, how and why we’re in a crisis of meaning, the notions of free will, relationships, sense of humour and much more.

Music credit: The jingle at the beginning of the show is courtesy of my friend, Pierre Journel, author of the Guitar Channel. And, the new sign-off music is “A Convinced Man,” a song I co-wrote and recorded with Stephanie Singer back in the late 1980s (please excuse the quality of the sound!).
