Photosynth… courtesy of Microsoft

Now, you have to be impressed with this new technology from Microsoft (shared in Monterrey in March 07). Thanks to my good friend Ned in Montreal who sent me the link, here is Photosynth software which is basically able to create complex hyperlinks of multiple images to create the ultimate in 360 degree viewing as well as immaculate zoom in and out capabilities. It allows a new exploitation of the network (example on Flickr) — and perhaps a new dimension to travel. It won’t be available for a few more years for us pedestrians, but it is neat to look at, almost like peering into the future. Don’t mind the car ad. But do check out the “punchline” on Notre Dame de Paris (around 4:30mins into it). See the film.
